Test Manager/Validation Lead – Engineering IT solutions (m/f/d)

Validate new engineering IT solutions in the context of System Lifecycle Management (SLM) / Engineering Eco-System for FMC’s global product organization to support the digital transformation towards Product Digital Twin and Digital Thread based on industry-best-practice technologies. Define Test Strategies and Regression Testing, manage Dryruns and official Tool Validation (Computer Software Assurance) by leading a group a Testers. Maintain, improve and own/survey/oversee the complete Test suite in a cross functional team for a set of engineering capabilities. Main area of work will be with Siemens product Polarion but also other technologies like Windchill, Thingworx, Modeler, Azure DevOps and their interfaces to Polarion are relevant.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Estimate Development of a Test Strategy, Dry Run and Testing efforts during Feasibility studies
• Define Test strategies of new or updated Features in the Tool Polarion used for e.g. Requirements Engineering, Verification Engineering and Traceability of FMC Development Projects
• Maintain an understanding of the IT Solutions Requirements, Implementations and own the Test Suite/Set of Test Protocols by continuously improving and aiming for high quality of Validation
• Plan, execute and coordinate Dry Runs with a Team of Testers
• Plan, execute and coordinate official testing/Validation of the solution implemented prior to deployments/Releases also by aligning with Test Planning of interfacing Tools as e.g. Windchill and Thingworx
• Coordinate the assessment of failed Test Protocols and report them to System Owner (SO) and Business Application Owner (BAO) for further Decision making
• Collaborate with external partners during all phases of Testing
• Validate against written requirementscollaborating with Requirements Engineers, solution architects / technical solution team and Technical Writer
• Ensure high quality of Test Strategy, Dry Runs and Validation
• Contribute to a maintained documentation of the Testing Part in the Engineering IT solutions Delivery Approach
• Review of Test Protocols
• Participate in risk assessments for required activities like Computer Software Assurance
• Contribute to creation of KPI to measure efficiency and effectivity of Tool Validation
• Contribute to overall program and release planning by providing Estimates
• Act as Quality Gate for Implementation after Requirements Engineering and Development
• Write Test Protocols and Execute Test Protocols

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• University degree or higher in Engineering (mechanical / electrical / software), Business Administration, IT or any combination
• 3+ years of related professional experience in an international business environment
• 2+ years of experience in Validation of IT systems used in R&D / development of Medical Devices or products & services from other industries like automotive, industrial equipment, aerospace or consumer goods
• Experience in program / project management, controlling including tracking and reporting key metrics will be as essential as outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Preferably knowledge in one or more usual PLM/ALM tools
• Digital technology, IoT, IT savviness demonstrated in multiple projects
• Being able to structure complex topics and drive for results
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Being able to deal with ambiguity
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, you are able to explain complicated matters in a simple, structured way, solve conflicts and motivate teams to follow you
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (English + German).
