Position Purpose:

In this exciting position, you are responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining global Executive Compensation programs and policies with the aim of fostering global consistency and efficiency.

You contribute to shaping our Executive Compensation landscape by, including but not limited to, the development and roll-out of a global Executive Compensation Guideline, managing related programs and processes, maintaining the Management Board compensation system, regular analysis of market trends and data to derive strategic implications and relevant actions for FME within the regulatory frameworks.

In this global position, you will collaborate with various internal (e.g., HR, Accounting and Controlling, Legal, Investor Relations) and external (e.g., tax advisors, compensation consultants) stakeholders, and act as a partner to broader HR as well as the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • (Co-) Lead the development, roll-out and management of Executive Compensation programs in line with our business strategy and external market practices (e.g., definition of scope, Executive Compensation system and philosophy, design of an operating model incl. implementation, communication and change management, definition and management of related processes).
  • Contribute to front to end management of all aspects in relation to the Management Board compensation system (e.g., fixed as well as short- and long-term variable compensation components, disclosure requirements and Corporate Governance, compensation benchmarks, payroll and tax, etc.).
  • Continuous re-evaluation of the Executive Compensation operating model, trends and business needs to derive change requirements, including but not limited to creation of benchmarks and conduction of regular market data analyses, to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
  • Stay informed about governance trends and best practices in Executive Compensation, across geographies as relevant for Fresenius Medical Care. Ensure Executive Compensation programs comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Creation of high-quality decision material for e.g., Senior Management, the Management Board and Supervisory Board, incl. creation of sophisticated financial models and business cases to evaluate the impact of various compensation scenarios.
  • Partner with the business and other areas of Global Total Rewards and HR functions on all related matters.
  • Effective stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Investor Relations, external tax advisors, etc.).
  • Participate in regular processes like e.g., accounting matters, the creation of the annual Compensation Report in line with legal laws and regulations incl. data collection, Annual General Meeting preparation, establishing variable compensation plan conditions, etc.
  • Develop educational materials to enhance understanding of executive compensation within the organization Communicate Executive Compensation programs to key stakeholders, including Executives and HR partners.
  • Work on ad-hoc requests and inquiries around Executive Compensation from the Top Management or HR, and provide guidance accordingly.
  • (Co-) Lead or contribute to further global (sub-)projects in line with the Global Total Rewards and Global Human Resources strategy.

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, HR, Finance, Psychology, Social Sciences or similar relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years professional background in relevant field, e.g., in compensation consultancy, Compensation & Benefits, HR, Finance, or similar field, ideally in multinational publicly traded or top tier consulting companies
  • Proven track record in managing global processes and/or global large-scale projects
  • Experience in Management Board compensation and German Corporate Governance Code matters advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills including proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to prioritize and flexibly react to changed circumstances
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and discretion
  • Experience in developing high-quality decision material for Top Management.
  • Solution-oriented work mode
  • Nimble mind with good business acumen
  • Advanced in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Workday experience advantageous
  • Effective communicator, incl. excellent presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner and establish trustful relationships
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Discreet and able to deal with highly sensitive data and topics
