Senior Manager Innovation, Competition & Strategy

Within a given framework defined by the Senior Director Innovation, Competition & Strategy, the following is carried out on his own responsibility:

• Identification and development of long-term goals for the patent department, taking into account the corporate strategy, including the planning and implementation of the IP strategy
• Independent identification and evaluation of future technology fields that contribute to the success of the corporate strategy and presentation of templates to decision-makers
• Development and/or implementation of strategically relevant activities with the aim of creating a competitively relevant IP and product portfolio
• Cooperation with various business units, department and group leaders regarding recommendations, implementations and implementation of action plans for IP activities and product development. Close cooperation with department heads in order to accelerate the optimization of the degree of target achievement
• Recording, analysis and presentation of core capabilities and key figures of one's own company and competitors, as a basis for strategic decisions
• Independent preparation of technology, trend, science and company analyses and responsibility for the derivation of opportunities and risks including their projects for communication and their integration into business processes
• Recording and identification of success-relevant factors of the industry structure, business areas, markets and competitors, including the extrapolation of these to one's own activities
• Provision of control means or establishment of processes that enable the implementation of the IP strategy within the department
• Support of the management and initiative in the identification, use and understanding of IP and competitive data in order to enable a strategic decision
• Communication of strategically important information including the internal and group-wide presentation of the company's own IP strategy, relevant market developments and the associated measures to senior management
• Support of annual intra-group budgeting and strategy development
• Contextualization of IP in relation to FMC products & services, competitor products & services, competitive situation, and technology trends
• Further development of the entire department "CoE IP" with regard to methods, analyses, knowledge and training
• Establishment of a Group-wide network of experts and decision-makers to support and implement strategic (IP) measures.
• Methods and measures to enable strategic portfolio management.
• Collaboration with patent, production and sales departments in cross-functional teams
• Identification of areas for optimisation and preparation of concrete action plans
• Participation in the Innovation, Competition & Strategy team

Desired Profile & Qualifications:

• Minimum Master's degree, advantageously a doctoral degree
• First practical experience in innovation management or strategy or competitive analysis or comparable experience
• Experience in the field of digital or the patent system is an advantage
• Fluency in the English language (spoken and written) is Required. Highly Proficient/Excellent oral and written language skills in an additional langue (German) is desirable.
