Global Occupational Health and Safety manager (OHS) (mwd) - limited contract 1 year with possibility of extension and renewal to permanent

We are looking for a maternity substitution for a length of 1 year with possibility of extension and renewal to permanent. The position is located in the Global OHS function, part of the Global Legal CoE Labor Law, Privacy, OHS, Human Rights, part of the Global Legal Function. The main tasks for this position include:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Support the maintenance and development of a global Occupational Health and Safety strategy and management system with specific focus on quantitative data

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overlook the maintenance of the IT tool for incident recording, including:

    • Quality/Sanity checks on collected data.

    • Development of analysis and reports aimed at being included in management presentations.

    • Liaise with IT system admin as part of the maintenance of the tool.

    • Definition of the procedures and processes aimed for maintenance of the tool and interaction with other functions/departments

  • Cooperate in the definition and further development of FME’s Global OHS strategy in close coordination and collaboration with the different actors within and outside of the global team.

  • Contribute to driving the change towards a global OHS management system:

  • Ensure regular reporting and management of global KPI’s (including target setting) to monitor and improve global OHS performance

  • Work closely with our regions and business units to improve data quality and continuously promote the use of data within OHS.

  • Compile, validate, and interpret global OHS statistics, trend analysis, or actionable metrics and create reports, forecasts, or scorecards that provide insights and recommendations to our management team.

  • Contribute to OHS disclosures and KPI/data points development, including responses to external stakeholder requests (such as investors or ratings and rankings) in close coordination with relevant internal stakeholders, and the operational OHS teams.

  • Reporting/communicating with regions and other global functions to ensure annual non-financial reporting content definition.

  • Responsible for monitoring industry benchmarks and trends.

  • Participating in the development of global OHS strategy with team members to ensure complete coverage of needed tasks.

  • Coordinate with the operational OHS teams.

  • Support regional and functional teams on related sustainability initiatives and projects.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  • Academic degree in science, engineering, statistics, or economics - focus on occupational health and safety, public health, sustainability management or adjacent area is beneficial.

  • General knowledge in the area of OHS

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 1-3 years of working experience in global management of EHS/OHS, or related field; or working experience in a consultancy firm in the area of EHS/OHS management and assessment beneficial.

  • Practical experience with developing and managing global reporting and management software

  • Familiarity with reporting and certification standards such as GRI, US/EU OSHA, ISO 45001 and relevant rating and rankings agencies

  • Excellent process oriented, structured, and conscientious working method

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a target-oriented mode with a mix of routine activities and new as well as changing processes

  • Ability to work independently, result oriented, strong team player, strong service attitude, self-motivating

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at the same time, understanding cultural differences

  • Ability to present complex data with simplicity

  • Knowledge of sustainability/OHS reporting IT tools
    Knowledge of sustainability reporting, including standards like GRI, OSHA and international regulation such as ILO standards
    Very good presentation skills

  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office (especially Excel); experience with document/knowledge management software (especially SharePoint), additional data analysis tolls is beneficial

  • Fluency in German and English.
